My work is an exploration into the varied ways of expressing line, form and space through processes of mark making.

Inspiration is taken from the pure abstraction of creating marks and filling space intuitively, the emerging spontaneous patterns and self organisation of people in crowds, and the depth of movement in the natural elements, particularly skies and weather.

Having studied embroidery, the majority of my work focuses on the relationship between drawing and stitch. I am interested in the similarities and differences between the two, their ability to make permanent a thought or observation, and to create pattern, texture, stillness and movement.
